UnibetKarmarama to Advise Unibet for Next Advertising Campaign

Sports betting and gambling operator Unibet announced today that it has selected a marketing firm to take charge of its latest Europe-wide advertising campaign. London-based independent marketing communications group Karmarama has been appointed as European creative lead to the gambling operator.

Unibet started its search for an advertising consultant in December 2015. Calling for a creative pitch, the operator has been asking advertising agencies to take care of its latest campaign.

Albion London was the previous such firm Unibet worked with on its marketing campaigns. However, last year, the London-based company announced that it would end its joint work with the gambling operator, a move that has been mutually agreed upon.

It will be Karmarama’s first task to launch Unibet’s June ‘online series.’ The campaign will be made available across a number gambling markets and will feature various popular sports personalities. The said ‘online series’ will be produced by London-based production agency Kream.

Commenting on the latest announcement, Unibet Head of Brand Alison Sams said that they have selected Karmarama due to its untraditional approach to advertising. Ms. Sams further noted that the firm’s pitch perfectly matched the gambling operator’s “By players, for players” motto. Of the Karmarama team, the official said that it is comprised of great people with great attitude towards work and that Unibet is looking forward to working with the advertiser.

Jon Wilkins, Karmarama Executive Chairman, commented that the gambling operator is one with a focus on providing customers with amazing experience that his company is thrilled with the opportunity to work with Unibet and to launch its next marketing campaign not only within the UK’s borders but also internationally.

Recently, the gambling operator announced its financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2016. Gross winnings revenue totaled £122.4 million, up 61% year-on-year and representing a record high for the company. Unibet reported growth in every single vertical part of its entire business. Revenue from sports betting was up 52% to reach £54.1 million.

Casino and games generated a total of £61.3 million, up 76% as compared to the figure reported for the same period of the previous year. The casino and games vertical accounted for 50% of the overall quarterly revenue. Sports wagering represented 44% of what was posted for the period in review.
